The United States Agency for International Development, USAID, has partnered with the Lagos Water Corporation, LWC, for a holistic revitalisation of the WASH sector to improve access to Water supply.
The Managing Director/CEO of Lagos Water Corporation, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus while speaking during the visit of the USAID team to the Corporation’s Headquarters, Water-House, ljora, Lagos, on Tuesday, said the agency aim to improve access to potable water supply in the State.
The USAID had visited the Corporation to unveiled CHEMONICs as a contractor for the improvement of water supply in the State. This will also include support in the improvement of the Governance and regulatory framework in Lagos State.
In his statement, Engr. Muminu said that the aim of the Corporation is to improve access to potable water supply in the State, adding that its great pleasure working with the USAID team for determined success of the project, as availability of water supply is key.
“We need to look for benefits and values from this project, as many people are expected to enjoy from improve service delivery.”
While enumerating, the objectives of the project, the USAID team representative, Dr. Joechim Ezeji stated that the project objectives included: to improve Water Service in Lagos, revamp Water Infrastructure, to help transform LWC, Governance Regulation and improve service provisions.
Mr. Ezeji added that Lagos has all ingredients to succeed, as there are presence of Manpower, Resourceful administration, High Political will, amongst others.
He however seek for everyone’s cooperation as far as success is concerned. “USAID is ready to give direction through capable and committed team,” he added.
