The Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria, SPIN, has inducted 50 additional professionals into the institute.

The 2023 cohort induction ceremony, themed “Partnership for Sustainable Development, The Journey So Far”, was held today, Thursday, February 2, 2023, as a hybrid event hosted physically at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, Lekki, Lagos.

The newly inducted sustainability professionals comprised Associate members, institutional members, and Fellows-which is the highest cadre for members. Some of the institutional members inducted include HIS Towers, First Bank Nigeria, and Lotus Bank, among others.

Speaking on the induction ceremony, the President of SPIN, Prof. Kenneth Amaeshi said the ceremony is a further testament to the institution’s resolve to champion the course for sustainability development in Nigeria by encouraging more professionals to incorporate sustainability practices in their everyday living, further redefining corporate, social responsibility and fostering enhanced economic, environmental, social, and governance practices in Nigeria.

The Vice-President of the institute, Dr. Ini Abimbola, who charged the inductees to be good ambassadors of the institute, said they must look for impactful solutions to solving critical problems while having a collaborative mindset to deliver results.

Also speaking, Dr. Mories Atoki, the Legal Adviser and Board Secretary of SPIN explained that this would be the institution’s first induction ceremony as an institute.  According to her, the pioneer induction took place on the 1st of August, 20221 while the second occurred on the 24th of February 2022.
