The Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria (SPIN) is set to host its inaugural Sustainability Conference 2026, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, regulators and sustainability experts to advance conversations on building resilient, future-ready organisations through sustainable business practices.
The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, in a hybrid format with the theme “The Adaptive Enterprise: Sustainability Strategies for Challenging Times,”
The theme will serve as a platform for cross-sector dialogue on practical approaches to navigating today’s complex business environment while embedding sustainability into organisational strategy.
The event will convene senior executives, policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, development partners, academics and sustainability professionals to examine emerging trends, and share best practices.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Aminu Umar Sadiq, will deliver the keynote address, alongside other distinguished speakers drawn from the public and private sectors.
Also expected to speak is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Group, Olusegun Alebiosu, who will present the guest address.
Other prominent speakers include Biyi Olagbami and Ibrahim Shelleng, alongside other industry leaders and stakeholders.
Speaking ahead of the conference, President of the Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria (SPIN), Professor Kenneth Amaeshi, said the inaugural conference would reflect the institute’s commitment to advancing sustainability beyond compliance and positioning it as a core element of organisational leadership.
According to him, the conference will provide a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and thought leadership, while equipping organisations with practical strategies to strengthen resilience, create long-term value and respond effectively to evolving environmental, social and governance (ESG) expectations.
