The Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, has released the burial programme for its late Spiritual Father and Chairman, His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale Alogbo, who died on July 30, 2026, at the age of 93.
According to a statement by the church’s Conference Secretary General, Senior Special Apostle Prophet (Dr.) Anthony Olusesan Samaye, issued under the directive of the Acting Spiritual Father, Most Senior Special Apostle Pastor (Dr.) Gabriel Olayinka Kassim, the funeral rites will run for a week, from Monday, October 19, to Sunday, October 25, 2026.
“The Burial Planning Committee, under the guidance and direction of the Acting Spiritual Father through the Secretary General, has concluded arrangements for the burial rites,” the statement said. The programmes lined up include lying-in-state viewings, a wake keep, a service of songs, funeral service, interment and reception.
The church said the week-long activities will draw wide participation from the country’s ecclesiastical circles, with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, and New Seraphs, among others, anchoring different programmes.
The Secretary of the Burial Planning Committee, Senior Special Apostle Prophet Abiodun Ogunsakin, said the committee, led by Most Senior Special Apostle Adebisi Adedire, was working to give the late cleric “a befitting burial in recognition of the great work he did spreading the gospel and impacting lives over the last six decades.”
Activities open on Monday, October 19, with a family-only lying-in-state at the residence from 7am to 10am, followed by public viewing at Blue Roof, LTV 8, Ikeja, from 11am, and an interdenominational service of songs from 12 noon to 3pm at the same venue.
Tuesday, October 20, designated a day of tribute and service of songs anchored by CAN, OAIC and New Seraph, will feature lying-in-state from 10am and a service and tributes from 12 noon to 4pm, also at Blue Roof.
On Wednesday, October 21, a service of songs anchored by the C&S Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, will hold at the same venue, with lying-in-state from 9am and the service continuing from 12 noon to 4pm.
The wake keep service, anchored by the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, holds on Thursday, October 22, at Seraphim Land along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Maba, Ogun State, with public lying-in-state from 9am to 10.30am and the wake keep proper from 11am to 3pm.
Friday, October 23, is set for the funeral service and interment. A final public lying-in-state holds at Blue Roof, LTV 8, Ikeja, from 8am to 9.30am, followed by the funeral service from 10am to 12.30pm. Interment follows at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Kingsland District Headquarters, Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos State, between 1pm and 2pm, after which a reception holds immediately at Blue Roof.
A private family party in honour of the departed holds on Saturday, October 24, at a venue based on invitation. The week rounds off on Sunday, October 25, with a thanksgiving service at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Kingsland District Headquarters, Oko-Oba, Agege.
Prophet Alogbo was installed as the sixth Spiritual Father of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church on May 1, 2024, and was later ordained as the fifth Supreme Head (Olori) of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria on September 20, 2025.
The church described him as a visionary leader and prolific composer of sacred music who, in 1960, established the first branch of the church south of the River Niger, leaving behind a legacy of more than six decades of service, prayer and global church expansion.
Prophet Samaye called on members and the public to continue praying for the bereaved family and the church, “giving thanks to God for a remarkable life spent in ministry, service, and the enduring legacy of our departed Spiritual Father.”
