Ikeja, Lagos- MediaFuse-Dentsu Nigeria, one of Nigeria’s communications holding companies has joined the campaign for environmental sustainability through its sanitation of some locations in Lagos, in commemoration of the World Earth Day.
According to the multinational agency, the project was done to commemorate the company’s global volunteering event tagged ‘One Day For Change”.
According to a press release by Dentsu Nigeria Corporate Communications Manager, Sodiq Oyeleke, Dentsu concentrated on the nature and circular economy. The Chief Executive Officer, MediaFuse-Dentsu Group, Emeka Okeke also commended the efforts of the company and their way of inducing positive measures in the environment.
He said, “For the first time, we celebrated this year’s One Day For Change with other Dentsu markets globally. The day aimed to build a clean and better environment for our local community and distribute pre-owned items to people who needed them in our environment.
“This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment and the lives of those within our community. By donating pre-owned items, we helped to reduce waste and gave others the chance to benefit from something that might otherwise have been thrown away.
“We also successfully influenced attitudes and shaped behavior during the event as passers-by were motivated to join in the cleaning. This is one of the ways we are promoting inclusiveness. We firmly believe that together, we can help one another and make our community a greater place.”
Okeke also noted that One Day For Change allowed the integrated communications firm to deepen its relationship with its host community, Ikeja Residents Association, Lagos State.
“Beyond the economic impact of the event, it was a unique opportunity to collectively come together to volunteer with our local communities, galvanize our people around a common goal, and make a difference where it matters most,” he added.
