Sun King, an off-grid solar energy company, has expanded its solar inverter offerings in Nigeria with new PowerHub systems and the launch of PowerFreeze, a solar-powered refrigeration solution designed to address unreliable electricity and rising energy costs.
The products were unveiled in Lagos on Friday, September 11, 2026, at an event attended by customers, partners and government representatives.
The expansion increases Sun King’s PowerHub portfolio from the existing 2.2kVA and 3.3kVA systems to a range of 2.2kVA to 30kVA. New capacities include 5kVA, 10kVA, 15kVA and 30kVA systems, targeting households, businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and light industrial users.
According to the company, the systems are scalable, allowing customers to increase inverter capacity, battery storage and solar panels as their energy requirements grow without replacing existing installations.
Speaking at the launch, Sun King Nigeria Country Business Leader, Lisbon Ogunsanmi, said the expanded portfolio would give customers greater flexibility to adopt solar power according to their needs and financial capacity.
“Our rooftop solar range now runs from a hyper-affordable solar home system all the way to 30kVA of inverter power,” Ogunsanmi said.
The company also launched PowerFreeze, a standalone solar-powered refrigeration system aimed at reducing food spoilage and dependence on petrol and diesel generators.
The 210-litre fridge-freezer combines solar panels, an energy control unit and battery storage. It can switch between refrigeration and freezing modes and features heavy insulation and five built-in ice batteries to retain cold temperatures overnight and during periods of limited sunlight.
Sun King Vice President, Sales – West and Central Africa, Omoyemi Tuga, said the system could help households and food businesses reduce losses caused by unreliable electricity and high generator costs.
Sun King has operated in Nigeria since 2017 and currently has about 16,000 trained sales agents and 136 shops nationwide. Its products are available through the EasyBuy financing model, allowing customers to pay in instalments.
The company said PowerFreeze currently starts from N120,400 monthly over 20 months, while the PowerHub Pro 5kVA starts from N304,400 monthly over the same period.
Sun King said its services cover product design, installation, servicing, warranties and after-sales support, providing customers with an end-to-end solar energy solution.
