One of Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, Airtel Nigeria, has reiterated its commitment to fighting sickle cell anaemia in the country.
The company communicated this recently at a sickle cell awareness clinic it held at DanÂsol Primary School, Ikeja, Lagos in collaboration with CrimsonÂBow Sickle Cell Initiative.
According to company, through the partnership with the CrimsonÂBow Sickle Cell Initiative, it provided much-needed support and resources to affected students who needed them, while promoting early detection and proper management of sickle cell conditions.
The event which aimed at creating sickle cell education and supporting students living with sickle cell disease, provided free counselling for sickle cell patients, free medical testing, drug dispensÂing and sensitization sessions to educate the public about the sickle cell disease.
Speaking on the partnership, the Chief Commercial Officer of Airtel NigeÂria, Femi Oshinlaja, emphasised Airtel’s dedication to good health as part of the telecommunication company’s Corporate Social ReÂsponsibility (CSR) goals.

The goal of this partnership is to proÂvide crucial support to individuals living with sickle cell disease and to help raise awareness about the condition.

Also speaking at the event, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CrimÂsonBow Sickle Cell Initiative, Timi Edwin, expressed gratitude to AirÂtel.
