Eri-Ifeoluwa Banjo has recently joined Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (Coca-Cola HBC) as Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Specialist, as announced via her public LinkedIn update.
Prior to this appointment, she started in Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at Unilever where she managed initiatives across internal communications, sustainability, and employee engagement. According to her, the experience taught her how much employee productivity thrives when people feel engaged, informed, and heard.
Curiosity then led her into Marketing. As an ABM at Unilever, she gained firsthand experience in brand building working on some of the most iconic brands, and later as Brand Manager at NASCON. She had the privilege of managing the Salt and Seasoning portfolio. Both roles reinforced that building lasting brands takes grit, intentionality, insight, and consistency.
“Now at Hellenic, I bring with me a diverse background that gives me a well-rounded view of business. I don’t just think from a marketing, sustainability, employee engagement or regulatory lens I think holistically. Since joining, I’ve had the privilege of diving deeply into the Youth Empowered space, working to deliver our mission to continuously empower youths across the world and amplifying the impact of the initiative”, she said.
Banjo arrives with several years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods and brand management space in Nigeria, where she has worked on consumer campaigns and stakeholder engagement. Her profile indicates a background in brand management and corporate communications that will be applied to sustainability-focused corporate affairs work.
Her appointment came at a time when Coca-Cola and its bottling partners are publicly sharpening their environmental priorities, from water security to packaging waste reduction and emissions cuts, giving her new role clear strategic importance.
Coca-Cola’s global sustainability agenda has evolved in recent years to focus more tightly on measurable goals: protecting water resources in high-risk areas, reducing packaging waste through improved collection and recycling, and cutting greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain. The Coca-Cola system including HBC and local bottlers has emphasized partnerships, circular packaging solutions and community water projects as core levers to deliver those targets.
Announcing the appointment via her LinkedIn announcement, Banjo framed the move as a continuation of a career focused on creating “impactful campaigns that connect to people in meaningful ways,” a skillset that will be useful in building community buy-in for sustainability programmes.
