Boston Consulting Group, BCG, has disclosed the launch of its transnational Center for Climate & Sustainability Policy & Regulation, sought at supporting customers navigate the rapidly changing climate and sustainability-related regulatory terrain.
Working as a “one-stop shop for clients,” the new base will bring together BCG’s international unit of professionals concentrated on the sector and technology-specific guideline and law, providing consumers with integrated advice on the implications of evolving climate and sustainability policy and regulation across landscapes.
Sylvain Santamarta, BCG’s lead for Climate & Sustainability Transformations, mentioned that the new centre comes as the competitive geography for enterprises and investors is changing as “governments are putting in place the policy and regulation needed to meet their global climate objectives,” adding, “Many companies understand the criticality of policy execution but labor with the associated tension and possible effect as the energy growth hastens”.
Hubi Meinecke, BCG’s Global Head of Climate and Sustainability lead added that “current policy and regulation are only the tip of the iceberg,” with much more to come “as governments work to close the hole between our present path to 2.7°C and the international objective of 1.5°C.”
The announcement comes as BCG has been active in facilitating its sustainability-focused capabilities, including the launch in 2021 of its Center for Climate & Sustainability, and its acquisition last year of sustainability transformation-focused consultancy Quantis.
